Description
In December 2020, the air component of the Belgian Armed Forces received the first of seven A400M Atlas transporters to replace its aging C-130 Hercules fleet. These seven aircraft, together with the only A400M acquired by neighbouring Luxembourg (previously produced under the Art.Nr 535649), will be operated by the 20th flight squadron at Melsbroek Air Force Base at the north end of Brussels Airport. With the arrival of the new vans, the two countries have officially formed a binational entity, through which transport capacities can be flexibly used together as required.
