In keeping with our current Braniff and Boeing 727 anniversary series, this limited new product is being released in 1:500. When the Braniff lettering on the fuselage of the originally introduced dark blue was barely legible in poor lighting conditions, the color was lightened somewhat and officially introduced as "Solid New Dark Blue" in 1967. Compared to the many strong colors on other Braniff aircraft, the "New Dark Blue" was considered too "subtle" and "colorless" and was only used on ten aircraft, including this 727-200.
